Worth more than the money
"A couple of initiatives that come to mind for high-ticket entrepreneurial communities are Entrepreneurs Organization and TEC Canada. MOAM has provided a space for men who run businesses and operate within a Christian and biblical lens to express themselves and acquire entrepreneurial insight and nuggets that are valuable far beyond what money can buy… The community is invaluable in that regard."

What a week gives you
"Typically, throughout our two or three video calls per week, I will come across one or two nuggets in marketing and/or sales within our business discussions. I will utilize them in my business with proven results and be enlightened by scriptural and biblically based life principles that will alter my perspective in a positive way going forward."
MOAM Member · sales leader
Fatherhood
"Now I played with my son for an hour in the middle of the workday. I'd rather be content with what God gives me than chase a number that costs me my family."

"For the first time in probably a year, I did not open my laptop after the workday was over… There's this weird feeling when technology isn't around you. You start noticing things again."
MOAM Member · business owner · father

MOAM Member · husband
Fatherhood
"Went on a fishing trip with just my 3 boys — a 12-mile float down the Menominee River, camping for 2 days. My second oldest told me it was the best weekend he's ever had. That was one of my relational goals for the year, and it was better than I could have imagined."
MOAM Member · father of three boys
Leading His Daughter
"I had the most special evening with my daughter, giving her a covenant of love ring and pledging my commitment to her as she becomes a young woman. God held back the rain as we shared a moment on a bench alongside the river, then dinner and ice cream."
MOAM Member · construction company owner
Marriage

MOAM Member · husband & father
Serving His Wife
"7:00 AM, baby in the carrier, dog on the leash. Our baby is in a serious sleep regression right now — so this is a bonus for my wife: 30 minutes in the morning to rest without the dog or the baby. Much needed for her."
MOAM Member · new dad

MOAM Member · business owner

MOAM Member · business owner
Leading The Whole House

MOAM Member · husband
Enough
"I don't want a giant plate — I want to spend quality time with my kids. We homeschool, my wife doesn't work for someone else, and I work from home. That's massive for us. We already have what a lot of people want: time freedom, no debt, and a lifestyle aligned with our values."
MOAM Member · father · works from home
"I've hit $1M, $5M, $10M — and I realized it's just a number. One week in, I brought just my Bible on vacation instead of a business book. I've slowed down. For the first time in my life, I think I'm actually at peace with where I'm at and what we're doing. I've truly never felt that before."
MOAM Member · A.M. · business owner
Peace Under Pressure
"A lot less anxiety throughout the day. A lot less overwhelm — that feeling like I need to be in several places at once or doing several things at once. And I'm getting better at prioritizing."
MOAM Member · practice owner
The Week From Hell
"The whole week was chaos. Sick family, contractors car overheated, my guys getting cussed out on the job site. And I just didn't get angry. Didn't let it get to me."
MOAM Member · husband & father
Slow To Anger
"I felt the sharp reply rise up — but 'quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger' was right there in my head, so I held it back instead of firing off."
MOAM Member · father
Rest
"I used to look at rest as a weakness — if you weren't working from 4 in the morning until 6 PM, there was no excuse. Now it's the opposite. I'm learning how to just rest and trust that God's in control, not us. I want to get to the point where when people ask how I'm doing, I can just say: I'm rested."
MOAM Member · business owner
Ownership
"The biggest shift I've seen in myself is taking responsibility and ownership. If I'm not showing up as a calm father and a loving husband, that's on me. The external circumstances don't dictate how I get to show up — whereas in the past, it was very much a victim mentality."
MOAM Member · service business owner · father
Six Years Of Trying
"I'd been trying to build a consistent morning routine for five or six years. Having something I can actually check on and check off every single day. That's what finally made it stick."
MOAM Member
The Morning
"Waking at 5:15 every morning to pray, review priorities, read my eulogy, and connect with my wife. Game changer."
MOAM Member · practice owner
Calm Under Stress
"My ability to keep calm under stress has increased greatly with this group."
MOAM Member · service business owner
Cool Under Fire
"Biggest win: being cool under fire. This group has very much helped with that."
MOAM Member · business owner
When It Rains
"I found myself just having to take a deep breath and just be like, well, I signed up for this. This is a good time to lean on God. No matter what happens — even if the truck gets towed — we've got work booked, the guys are okay, and I'm closing jobs."
MOAM Member · business owner · father
The Reset
"Patterns I would default to in the past, I'm pausing and I'm recognizing more before. My escape would be just grab the phone, flip through the newsfeed, distract yourself, numb yourself. Today I opened the YouBible app and I read a few prayers, and I realized I just need to go be quiet for a little bit. And in doing that, it was like a reset."
MOAM Member · practice owner
The Hard Conversation
"I called my uncle. I wanted to articulate my feelings and thoughts in a calm and organized way. And I was able to do that. I prayed about it beforehand for a few days."
MOAM Member · husband & father
The Long View
"It's a heck of a lot better than it was a year ago, and it's a heck of a lot better than it was six months ago."
MOAM Member · husband & father
First Things First
"My work list was a mile long and I just felt overwhelmed. So I said, you know what, I'm going to start with something that's not on this list. I put the work away and read my Bible for an hour instead. And it helped."
MOAM Member · contractor · father
Kept Going
"My knee was swelled up, my number two was out, and I didn't miss any work. I didn't complain about it too much. I just kept going."
MOAM Member · contractor
Catching The Drift
"I've never felt so much peace despite what's going on. Discipline has improved every area of my life. I feel when I'm drifting and take action immediately."
MOAM Member · farmer
It Held On Vacation
"Usually, if I was on vacation, I would just let stuff go. I really think the habit tracker is what kept that going."
MOAM Member · practice owner

MOAM Member · business owner
Between The Lines
"I just feel like staying disciplined on [the morning routine] has been helping me to really stay in between the lines."

MOAM Member · husband & father
Four Weeks Straight
"4 weeks straight waking at 5am — workout, Bible plan, cold shower, pray. Working on my eulogy — challenging but eye opening."
MOAM Member · business owner · father
On The Road
"Completed morning routines on the road during a business trip."
MOAM Member
Before The Day Job
"Found a good template for early morning rising, quiet time, working out, and offense work — before my day job even starts."
MOAM Member
3:30 AM
"I woke up at 3:30am and could not go back to sleep. So I got up at 4, read my Bible for a while, left at 4:45, went and got some coffee, got into the office. I had a full day of work in before I ever went to go play golf."
MOAM Member · contractor
Less Reactive
"Instead of waking up and immediately reacting to emails and work fires, I'm trying to start my day with God. Less reactive. More intentional. And just the fact that I'm aware of this now has been a win for me."
MOAM Member · business owner
The Restart
"Started working out again for the first time in a couple of months — ran a mile to warm up, did an upper body workout, and realized I'd lost 15 pounds since February without even tracking it."
MOAM Member · farmer
All Is Well
"Been much more consistent getting in the Word every day in some shape or form. Weight's been good, working out a couple times a week, eating well, good relationships with family and friends. All is well."
MOAM Member · farmer
It Became Automatic
"There are things I've tried to do for years but never stuck with. Now it's just what I do."
MOAM Member · business owner
Why It Sticks
"I really thought I'd be able to manage it better without the accountability. Having to record it every day makes missing those habits a little bit harder. The biggest thing I've taken away is adding friction where I need things to go away, and removing friction where I want to build the habit up."
MOAM Member · service business owner
Gain, Not Gap
"Learning to operate in the GAIN not the GAP. Handled high tension with a client's angry neighbor extremely well."
MOAM Member · electrician
In The Storm
"Personal discipline is on fire. Family is weathering the biggest storm of our life. Started and acquired two businesses."
MOAM Member · owner of two businesses
Peace He Can Name
"I just have, like, this peace, you know? I think I learned that from her, too, and I learned that from this group, too."
MOAM Member · business owner
Same Day, Both Things
"I got punched in the gut by a customer… But [at lunch] he slept on my shoulder. It was so wonderful. And I believe this wholeheartedly — when God closes one door, he opens two more."
MOAM Member · new dad · business owner
Losing Well
"DNF at the Saskatchewan Marathon at km 35. This result was crushing. My spirit was strong, my mindset was challenged, and my body simply gave out. God is still great, and a comeback marathon is in my future."
MOAM Member · business owner
The Reframe
"Lost access to all my social media accounts due to being hacked but that's a blessing in disguise and now I get to start fresh."
MOAM Member · business owner
Direction
"For the first time in my life I'm feeling a real direction forward and an actual plan on how to get there. MOAM has given me discernment and a clear vision going forward."
MOAM Member · service business owner
The Eulogy, Daily
"I've been using the reader function on my phone to read my eulogy statement back to me — 'Hey Siri, read the note called eulogy statement.' I've been doing it about a month now and it's been really impactful."
MOAM Member · business owner
Daily Guidepost
"I keep going back to that eulogy statement that you had us create, and that is, like, an every-morning daily guidepost."
MOAM Member · practice owner
Day 77
"I'm on like day 77 reading my eulogy statement. It's like narrow focus for the day. It's been awesome."
MOAM Member · practice owner
Setting The Tone
"I've been very intentional about setting the tone of our whole family. We get things done, we have good attitudes, we don't sweat the small stuff. It's amazing what it does."
MOAM Member · husband & father
Pushed Toward God
"Honestly, Matt, I really appreciate the work you do, how you've led me into — you've kind of… bothered me, in a sense — towards my Heavenly Father, like, pushed me towards Him… In 3 months, it's crazy where we're going, where we've come from. I love how the foundation is Christ. I love how it's most primarily about removing idolatries, centering on Christ."
MOAM Member · construction company owner
Feeling It Again
"Being able to feel God's presence more. Going through the word and having it emotionally and physically affect me. It's something I forgot was even a thing."
MOAM Member · husband & father
Prayer
"Until this program, my prayer was very superficial — pray for supper, that was about it. It wasn't intimate, it wasn't deep, it wasn't thought out. Now one of my deposits every day is to pray, and I have specific things I'm praying for. In just the last couple of weeks I feel like I've grown a lot."
MOAM Member · business owner · father
Freedom
"At 43, it's the first time in 32 years that I'm not addicted to anything. My prayer and my time in the Word are tangible now — I feel God's love when I pray. My family is on the mend because I'm able to lead them now."
MOAM Member
Hunger
"For the first time in my life, I actually have a hunger for doing what God has me here to do."
MOAM Member · business owner
Delight, Not Duty
"I've read 14 of the 27 New Testament books — shortest to longest — in the last few months since starting MOAM. My delight and desire for the Word have been refreshed."
MOAM Member · husband & father
A Nine-Year Gap
"I'm on schedule reading through my Bible this year. I haven't done that since 2017. I look forward to that. Meeting with him is life-giving, so how could I miss it?"
MOAM Member · construction company owner
First Time Through
"I'm about 15 days till I am done the whole Bible. This will be my first time reading through it."
MOAM Member · business owner
The Living Word
"Today is day 9 of getting in the Word. The last two have just been me walking out in our pasture with my AirPods in, listening to God's Word. And every single time, it doesn't matter how many times I've listened to the same passage — something else ised to me. That is why it is called the Living Word of God."
MOAM Member · business owner · father
Right On Time
"I've never really felt like God speak that directly to me. We'd been talking about anger in Bible study last week, I started reading James, I was struggling with anger yesterday — I go to open my book that night and the chapter is right there."
MOAM Member · contractor · father
Off The Medication
"I'm down to one more dose of my SSRI, and then I'm off the anxiety medication completely. Also got three early-morning wakeups this week."
MOAM Member
Desire
"I've grown in having a deep desire for time with Jesus. Started serving with a missions organization."
MOAM Member
Bookends
"The time in the morning is foundational. The bookends of the day — the beginning with Him, and then the evening walk. His presence brings peace in it. He meets me there."
MOAM Member · construction company owner
Where Fulfillment Comes From
"Our fulfillment is not in the goals, the money, or how productive we are. It can only come from one very large hole in our heart that can only be filled with God. If God ever makes me a billionaire, I want it to be because I followed His guidance — not because I just wanted more and more."
MOAM Member · business owner · father
Enough
"A private equity firm showed up and made a stunning offer for the business I love. We were a month from signing. On the drive home from the beach my wife asked me, 'So we get all this money — and then what? The bills are paid, the kids are healthy. Why do we need more?' Deep in my soul I felt God saying, why do you need more? It's like chasing after the wind."
MOAM Member · business owner · father
Slowing Down
"It's the first week in ten years that I haven't read anything related to business, and in the weirdest way I feel more relaxed and more clear. I think it's why I joined this program — I'm trying to learn how to smell the roses, how to slow down."
MOAM Member · business owner
Deeper Friendships
"For ten years, every conversation with one of my good friends has been about business. Yesterday I told him I'm trying to slow down and smell the roses — and it opened the door to a much deeper conversation about our walks with the Lord, our families, and what actually matters. So refreshing."
MOAM Member · business owner
Open Hands
"I made a decision this week that I'm going to work less. I'm actually trusting God with both businesses. I've been carrying this anxiety about revenue and outcomes and I hit a point where I just… decided to let it go. Not be passive. But hold it differently."
MOAM Member · owner of two businesses
Clarity Without Change
"God is giving me an insane amount of clarity — even though I still have the same amount of stuff going on. Just trying to give up as much control as I can has really calmed my mind. I've started to fall in love with things outside of business again."
MOAM Member · business owner · father
Expulsive Power
"We can try to stop these things on our own willpower, but eventually you won't be able to, because you have to fill your cup with something that pushes the bad things out of the way."
MOAM Member · business owner
Identity
"Consistent at the gym and in the Word. Living like the man in my eulogy."
MOAM Member · farmer
Reordered
"Faith is now my #1 priority. It drove me to the career change I'm pursuing. Working out the most I have in years. More structure to my day."
MOAM Member · farmer
Purpose
"God's been realigning purpose into my life. Restoring a sound mind and my overall soul. Helping me see again."
MOAM Member
The Foundation
"The main reason I'm here, Matt, is because this is built on a good foundation — a godly foundation. Anything I've built on a worldly foundation doesn't really stick."
MOAM Member · business owner
What He'll Suffer For
"Passion is something that you're willing to suffer for. And I want to suffer for something that is more than myself. I want to suffer for Jesus. If I'm going to suffer, I want to do it for the kingdom."
MOAM Member · business owner
The Closed Door
"I prayed for a clear path — if I didn't get the job, I'd be out of excuses for going after my own thing. I didn't get it. The things you fear the most are the places you trust God the least. I'm giving my business to God and letting Him be the CEO."
MOAM Member · business owner
Clarity To Peace
"When you have your priorities clear and straight, and you have a why for each priority… and you actually look at each category and, to the best you can, create a schedule that reflects that — that's when you actually feel a level of peace and confidence. Because you know you're doing what you're supposed to be doing. You're living by your convictions."
MOAM Member · creative business owner
Seek First
"Seek first the kingdom of God, His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you… We just learn to trust that God's gonna give us what we need. And life is a lot better."
MOAM Member · creative business owner
Carrying It Forward
"After being 7 years sober myself, I got the opportunity to help a family member come closer to Jesus and overcome his alcoholism. We headed to a men's retreat together — 250 dudes, 16 baptisms. He got baptized."
MOAM Member
When The Enemy Whispers
"I keep getting attacks from the enemy and I hear 'it's not worth it, you're just wasting your time, it's not helping.' Then I read your book pairings, the summaries of ascent calls and Bible study, try to keep up with the fitness tracks, help and get help with the pack — and I realize it's helping tremendously."
MOAM Member
He Almost Quit
"I've wanted to walk away from this a few times — it just seemed like more stuff to do, a lot to keep track of. But now that I've really committed over the last week to just log my daily habits — exercise, read the Word, track my goals — I can really feel the fruit is happening. My wife and I are getting along, and I'm facing the hard things instead of avoiding them at all costs."
MOAM Member
Not In A Battle
"I'm in a legal dispute with a business owner in Florida and U.S. Customs and Border Protection — but I'm not in a battle with him. I shared the verse of the day, Hebrews 12:14, with him and his attorney and connected over our faith in Jesus amidst it all."
MOAM Member · business owner
Unashamed At Work
"I was lifting weights in the store of my biggest customer — a guy I've known three or four years — and out of the blue I asked if he was a Christian. 'Yes, absolutely.' We had a conversation, took a photo, shared some fellowship."
MOAM Member · business owner
Healing
"I've had Lyme disease for about 5 years — difficult physically and mentally. As of my last two tests it's no longer showing in my bloodstream, and this is the best I've felt in a long time. Praise God for His healing."
MOAM Member · business owner
Renamed
"A personal win this week has been getting to the heart of what I should be doing — I've struggled with that. My deposits got drastically changed. Reading the Bible became Quiet Time, Gain Wisdom, and Priestly Duties. Spend time with my kids became Connect with my kids and my wife. Feeling really grateful."
MOAM Member · father
Why This One
"I didn't want to go to a business coach or build anything with someone that didn't have this ultimate perspective. There are plenty of books out there — but if you're going to be coached and mentored by somebody, they better be under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit."
MOAM Member · business owner
His Wife
"I wake up, crack my book open, have my coffee, read and then pray. About 70 percent of my mornings now. It was zero before. My wife said, 'Babe, I can't believe you're doing this.'"
MOAM Member · husband
His Six-Year-Old
"My six-year-old walked in while I was reading my Bible and said, 'Dad, you've been reading it a lot.' It used to be random and inconsistent — now it's every night, and he noticed."
MOAM Member · father of a six-year-old
His Kids
"I think they're starting to see me as more of a steadying presence, or a calming presence — as opposed to a burnt-out dad at the end of the day when he comes home from work."
MOAM Member · husband & father
His Wife
"She said, 'I know you're mad.' And I was just like, I'm honestly not. Like, I'm really not."
MOAM Member · husband & father
His Daughter
"My 15-year-old daughter said, 'I know what I want in a man. I want a man who follows after God and brings me with him. I don't want to keep trying to make boys love God. I need a man who leads me.' A big part of that is the marriage we have and being able to be the parents God called us to be."
MOAM Member · father of a teenage daughter
His Wife
"My wife… she thanks me every single day. It just blows my mind. It's like part of our routine — we kind of combo our Grace before dinner, and she says that every single night."
MOAM Member · husband · new dad
His Wife
"She was really driven in her career for the first 10 to 12 years… she's completely changed… You can evolve with each other."
MOAM Member · husband
His Wife
"My wife was actually the one who saw the program. I was hesitant because it was a big investment, and she asked me, 'What training do you have to run a company?' I had none; I was just making it up on the fly. I didn't have great man mentorship growing up. This whole program has just been so full of it."
MOAM Member · service business owner

"Christmas dinners done well. Gave out bonuses. Staff feedback: they feel blessed to work here. Going skating with wife and kids tonight."
MOAM Member · retail business owner

His Team
"Exciting to see the care of my people growing with teammates who are just as passionate about seeing everyone cared for."
MOAM Member · construction company owner

MOAM Member · business owner

MOAM Member · IT company owner
His Son
"My oldest son is going to be in charge of [drone] operation and I'm excited to see him grow the social media aspect of our business."
MOAM Member · construction company owner
A Stranger
"I made a stop at Tim Hortons this morning. I was blasting 'Bless God' while I pulled up to the window, and this young Filipino man serving me had a huge smile. He said 'God bless you' with a massive smirk as I drove away. We shared an incredible moment of a pin prick of time together."
MOAM Member · business owner
His Coworkers

The People He Serves
"Some of the principles within this coaching program have overlapped into my spiritual life. I've been able to pass that on to other people who are trying to do similar stuff when it comes to our faith."

What Cut Through
"You're the first person besides my wife that I have ever heard say no, we need less of self. The Bible actually does not call us to learn how to love yourself better. And I just know that to be true for my own life, because I see it every single day."
MOAM Member · business owner · father
Brotherhood
"That's why I like this group of men. We talk about these types of things and we share these experiences. Actually, thank you. I don't get this in my life a lot. The world isn't like this."
MOAM Member · business owner
Understood
"The things we talk about here — if I told this to somebody outside this group, they'd look at me like I was crazy. But when I talk about it here, you guys understand. It's been a blessing."
MOAM Member · business owner
First Call
"My takeaway is just how helpful it is to be in a room where I'm hearing other men talk about what they're striving to be. There's gotta be a lingering effect from this call — positive reinforcement, kinder to my wife, thinking about Sabbath, putting the phone down."

Preaching To Him
"I feel like today is one of those calls, similar to when you walk into a church and it seems like there's nobody else in the room and your pastor's just preaching a sermon directly to you. That's kind of how it's been today."
MOAM Member · business owner
The Pack
"I think that's one of the most awesome parts about your group, and kind of why you have the whole pack thing — all of us being able to hold each other accountable. I'm happy to jump on a Zoom call with anybody to kind of go through this together."
MOAM Member · business owner
He Left His Last Coach
"One of the reasons I left my previous coach — he wasn't really based in faith. I'm no longer a part of a lot of that community because it wasn't built on a good foundation. The only thing that's been a constant in my life is the Lord."
MOAM Member · business owner
In The Truck
"I remember I was in the truck — it was the second time we spoke — and I was like, man, I don't want to do this. Excuse, excuse, excuse. And now I'm super proud. It's been 10 days. A lot of work to go, but I'm gonna keep going."

"These two calls on Wednesday are pretty fun. I usually have good Wednesdays now — they used to be a hotspot day doing CRM work I hated. This has completely changed my midweek routine. It's my favorite time of the week."

Not Alone With A Notebook
"I'm not just sitting on the couch by myself with a pen and paper trying to think of goals. I'm hearing you talk about them, I'm seeing other people, I'm hearing other men, I've got it on an app where I'm in my phone anyway. It self-populates each day."

He'd Done Goals Before
"It's only been a few days, but it's already having a big impact. And, you know, it's coming from a person who's done goals their whole life, but just has been out of it for a couple of years, so it's been really helpful to just have it in one place and have the community."

The Pack Feeds Him
"I read that article on complaining in your business that someone shared. That had a pretty profound effect on me — I'd been complaining a lot this week. When I see stuff like that on the Slack, items somebody points out that are helpful with the injury I'm experiencing and some business problems I'm having, it's very helpful."

The Offer Landed
"It's been a lot of pain the last 3 years trying to get trips sold… We recreated the offer, and dude, the feedback is insane. Yesterday we had four sales calls, and I've never seen people so excited about wanting to work with us — the urgency is so high. We've probably got 30 yeses."

More Output, Less Grind
"I got more work done on my marketing business this week than in the last three years since I owned it. Twenty posts created and scheduled, three ads almost done, an entire website built and sent to a buddy in a single day — and yet I wasn't glued to my desk. I played with my son for about an hour in the middle of the workday."

Bigger Jobs, Less Overwhelm
"Since I built my own service software, I've been able to take on a couple of larger jobs that would have overwhelmed me in the past — but I've managed them well with good organization. And because I'm not overwhelmed with work, I've been able to show up so much more present and regulated at home as a husband and father."

280 Days Of Waiting
"We got results for proposals we sent for our clients over 280 days ago. There was a point where we didn't think the government would ever award these — but we won 12 contracts, with a few still pending. This is far and away the most successful round in our four-year existence."

Out Of The Weeds
"I was too stuck in the weeds of the business to think big picture about how to grow. Lots of spinning my wheels without making real progress. Now I feel like I have a framework to make good decisions as we scale up the business. I'm constantly improving my EHR and delegating tasks that don't need my attention."

18-Hour Days, Over
"I was working 18 hours a day and still not feeling like I was catching up. I believe now I have a better idea of where to invest my time and when to hire people to help. I am giving more time to my family and focusing on areas in the company I want to grow."

The same month, his daughter graduated high school and he was fully there for her final dance recital, the one she'd been part of since she was two. The numbers
He built the software his company needed, then went home
"Invoicing, parts and customer tracking all ran through four clunky trackers. He built his own tool that pushes invoices straight into his accountant's system as a draft, replacing a $300-a-month product that wouldn't even integrate. He's taking on bigger jobs now without the overwhelm that used to come with them. His wife is in her first trimester with their third, and he says the systems are what let him stay regulated and present at home through it."

Almost a year in
"I'm almost a year in working with Matt. There's still a lot of work to do, but the amount of progress I've made in my business, making tough decisions around actually pivoting my business in a way that I think is going to make it sustainable and quite frankly a lot more profitable, taking a little bit more risk, being more decisive, having a plan, but also finding more time to spend with my family and the things that are important… I'm working harder in some ways than I was when I was burned out, but the weight feels in many ways lifted. And what felt bleak for a while, I feel like there's a really awesome light at the end of the tunnel here."

Why not just a business coach
"I'd worked with business coaches in the past, which I think I found helpful. But talking with Matt and getting insight from somebody that feels all those pains, the marriage component, the walk with the Lord component, the profit and loss component, running [a] successful business, that was rare."
Brent · consulting principal
The community he didn't sign up for
"I hadn't even fully expected, or even necessarily would have communicated, that I desired the community that is within Man on a Mission. But man, I don't know what I would do without our Tuesday morning Bible studies or our Wednesday business calls or our Slack community, where we can celebrate wins and pray with other people that just know what we're going through."
Brent · consulting principal
Accountability
"I think that's why even this group is so helpful for me, and having some accountability. So many fall into isolation, because it allows the enemy's voice to get so much louder when we're not handing it over to others who are following, too."

It's crazy I think we were 75 posts and some pivoting before we really got any traction but just goes to show that consistency wins 🙌

Personal win, my plane has been worked on for about a year dealing with high cylinder head temperatures. It was not safe to fly and has put a huge damper on my instrument rating training. This week I can say its finally in a workable state! It's ready for my flight to New Mexico in September to archery hunt elk in the Gila National Forest.
Another personal win, my knee surgery is healing well and if it stays on the current trajectory (God willing) I will be able to hike in the mountains on this hunt.
🙌 5
Business Win: Connected with another home remodeler here in the . (He actually found us on ChatGPT) He wants to hire us to project manage his remodeling projects so he can just sell. That fits our skillset and tools really well and is timely as we are in need of some additional revenue.
Personal Win: I found out that I have been "nesting" — a term I had never heard before but my mom was cracking up telling me that is what I was doing in getting the house ready for the baby. So a win that our home is prepared for the new baby and that my mom is getting great enjoyment out of the thought of me "nesting"!
🙌 6
Personal: My wins have been consistent time in the word this week, and back to back date weeks with the wife!
Professional: The AI course has kind of got my wheels turning, on some entrepreneur ideas, which is new for me. I also saw a heron hunting a fish on one of my 30 minute walks this week outside. God spoke to me about my daily hunt. Something that I think as someone employed, its not something I normally consider.

I believe that God has guided and led me to the root of my back and leg issues, which is more complex than just tight hip flexors and working those out. I'm very pleased by his grace in this lesson.

My wins have been getting workouts in every morning this week after months off and wrapping up a few major projects at work and securing some yard space to start expanding what we can offer

My cousin, who I've grown up with my entire life, is getting married tomorrow. Last night we had the welcome/reception/rehearsal dinner, and there were about 50 people there from all over Canada. It was a wonderful, beautiful, and fantastic time at my grandfather's residence in a beautiful building that he lives in. He's 93 years old, and his life on earth will end in this location at some point. Praise the Lord for weddings and incredible experiences for the elderly prior to heading to see Jesus for good.

Two families and a couple of singles from our church went down to , to attend the Off the Charts Music Festival this weekend and camped at .
What a beautiful time, what a great experience. None of us were on any of our technology phones, computers, et cetera, all weekend. It was absolutely joyous.
All we did all weekend was:
- Listen to music for a few hours at the festival
- Eat food
- Drink coffee
- Play sports and activities
- Have a fire
- Enjoy fellowship around the campsite
"Running With You in the Dark" by 10th Avenue North was my favorite performance and song to see live. About 2,000 people there.

I love to see all these wins!
For me, the big win is seeing how my 19 year-old is handling the hard news that what we thought was a shoulder dislocation is actually a major injury involving multiple tears and in need of immediate surgery. He's not going to be able to move into his college dorm next weekend as expected, and his recovery is going to be probably 4 to 6 weeks, thereby disrupting the start of his college semester.
He is handling it with a ton of maturity and Grace, however. So proud of him, and so grateful for God's grace at work there!

I was able to sit around with him yesterday and shoot the breeze pretty easily and we shared some laughs. He was very helpful in meeting with my first legit lead, an older couple considering selling their 160 acres. Professionally:
• A substantial lead that had been tabled a year ago has resurfaced as an opportunity and the client desires to award us the project. There are details to be ironed out but they are currently not having any other conversations with any other firms.

Wins:
1. We shipped that feature by the deadline, and Partners (customers) were extremely happy with the result.
2. In the midst of all the things I'm juggling (leading a new team at work, interview prep for 3 opportunities, not sleeping), I was still able to:
a. provide air cover for my wife to start going to PT
b. have lunch with someone I'm ministering to, and encourage them (I'm building up rapport to prayerfully share The Gospel with them)
c. Take my oldest out for a Father-Son hangout (community pool & ice-cream), which included some spiritual conversations
d. Line things up to serve and love-on a friend who is in full-time ministry (having him & his kids over for breakfast, tomorrow)
🙌 7
Hey, good morning team. and I had a very restful and enjoyable weekend. We did a couple of fun things and had two date nights, which were fantastic without our son. It is really important that we spend time together, re-engage, and light that fire regularly and constantly. We had a fight on Sunday morning before and after church. It was crazy because we had a great experience at church, but it was also a really eye-opening experience. The lesson was about fighting and learning how to get along with each other when we are not in each other's ideal space. We ended the weekend with a fire, a conversation, a tea in our backyard sanctuary.
We keep reminding ourselves that as long as we follow God's plan and not our own, we will be just fine.
Where you fear the most is where you trust God the least.

Personal win: Feeling confident going into my first hike ever. I'm going on a 26 km 3 day hike in (Alberta Rocky Mountains).
I've been training for weeks with my pack on etc. Taking electrolytes, protein, creatine and several other supplements consistently thanks to the daily deposits.
Even played back to back men's league hockey games last night and felt pretty good. I have a lot of injuries and only started working out again when I joined this program. Grateful for this group and the program.

Another huge win that just occurred for me today. I'm walking around the office and I pop into another warehouse of our biggest customer, who I've known for three or four years. He's a commercial sales rep for fitness equipment across the street from my office.
I'm lifting weights in the store when, out of the blue, I just asked him if he was a Christian. He said, "Yes, absolutely." We had a little bit of a conversation about it, took a photo, engaged in some fellowship, and went forward. I had no clue about this with this guy, and I was absolutely pleased to know that he's spreading the message here and that now we can do that together.

Yesterday I had a great conversation with one of my good friends. For the past 10 years, every conversation we've had has been about business. Very good timing, Matt. I just thought of this one as I'm going through a business dispute with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The individual who owns a large business in , who we have this legal dispute with, I am in regular and constant communication with him and his attorney. I shared the verse of the day from Hebrews 12:14 today with him and connected over our faith in Jesus Christ amidst the issue that we are currently having.
It's relevant to say that I'm not in a battle with him. It's this man and my company, who are trying to come to a resolution with Customs and Border Protection, not one business against the other.
Praise God for this beautiful little win.

Personally: I splurged on a box of 2026 Topps Chrome Black baseball cards and pulled a Derek Jeter and Ichiro autograph card numbered to 10 🙂

Professional: Made some of my biggest steps towards the next venture, while keeping the current one rolling fairly healthy. Lots of work yet, but decided a "soft launch" date, which I think is going to be helpful in building momentum.

Good morning gentlemen.
Professional: After a few months, my wife and I finally got our short term rental ready to rent and have our first guests checking in today. Did not realize how much work/time it was going to take. So I look forward to having the time to get on the calls with you guys now.
Personal: I took my boys camping for the first time and taking my older son to see Dude Perfect live this evening. I also stayed disciplined and got my morning routine in every day this week. It's been motivating my wife so she has been getting up early as well so it makes it easier to hold each other accountable.

Wins — I've read 14/27 New Testament books of the Bible (shortest to longest) in the last few months after starting MOAM. My delight and desire for the word have been refreshed.
Wins — Feeling blessed and in peace. Family life is very stable. Lots of appreciation from patients who value the work and attention to detail. Getting back on the fitness track and losing weight.
Personal win: had an awesome trip to an island off with my wife for our 20th anniversary, super connecting and well-needed break from the normal stress etc. We were one of only 3 couples there and often had the entire place to ourselves. Did some snorkeling and tried scuba diving for the first time.
Business: the trip inspired us to begin planning a couples retreat to that same resort in about a year, offering workshops for wives and husbands and couples coaching and various experiences designed to strengthen the marriage and yet also have free time for couples to enjoy a vacation together. We met with the staff while we were there and took a behind the scenes tour. Planning has already begun.
Win for me this week.
My wife and I celebrated a 15 year anniversary trip to wine country without the kids. We've had amazing honest conversation about how we can support and love each other better. Spent time each morning in this devotional by Dave Harvey.
I'm learning how important and powerful getting away is for us.
If you're in the grind and feeling like you and your spouse are barking at each other you might just need a vacation together. 🙂
P: I had the most special evening with my daughter last night, giving her a covenant of love ring, and pledging my commitment to her as she becomes a young woman. It was incredibly special for both of us. God held back the rain, as we shared a special moment on a bench alongside the river, and we followed it up with some fine dining and ice cream for dessert. The minute we sat down to share the dinner the rain let loose and we watched it downpour from our riverview window. Very grateful it didn't do that as we sat outside on the bench!!
B: Next week I have the opportunity to volunteer in building a timber frame pavilion for our community. Part of the Timber Framer Guild community projects. The win is that my team is completely equipped and prepared for me to be gone the entire week and I really consider it such a blessing to be able to do this.
Professional: I got an inventory system set up to manage my 800+ parts which will be very beneficial for my operation.
I completed the last weekend and hiked 40kms with over 1000m of elevation with a band of brothers. It was a transformational weekend and so happy I did it. With a 40-50lbs hiking bag at times. "Tough" was an understatement.
My wife completed her first ever sprint duathlon today.
3.5 km run
27 km bike
5 km run
Praise God
We are celebrating (our daughter) 3rd birthday tomorrow! She's such a joyful little girl and we are grateful to be her parents.
Business wins: one of our stores had a good increase in sales and customer spend over the past 2 months (which is a victory) as that was one of our goals at our last managers meeting.
Up at with my family. So fun to get my parents, brothers and their families and my wife and kids all together.
Got to lead everyone in a devotional this morning about the way of wisdom in laying down our lives for the Lord. Had some fun skits with the kids to emphasize it. Lots of fun games and good food.
P: Definitely great to get some coffee dates mid week with my bride. Also a nice porch night last night with the Solo stove on the table. Great convo, and rest time.
B: Had a great team meeting with my team I call the "pulse group". It's exciting to see in action the care of the people in my company growing with the help of my team mates who are just as passionate if not more about seeing everyone cared for, growing, and loving their job. Excited about the guy I just hired on as my "pulse keeper". 6 working geniuses affirmed that we are literally the perfect pairing to bring our company to the next level and I'm excited.
Joining this group is a win for me. Looking forward to settling in and making the most of it.
Personally: surprised my wife with 18 flowers for the 18 years she's been a mom and she loved it.
Sold the last 2 of our 7 lambs this week.
Happy Win Friday!
Personal: last day of school for the kids today for summer break. My wife and I head out of town to celebrate our anniversary. Planned every detail for a romantic getaway.
Professional: God is Good! We won our largest contract to date for an industrial client for managed IT services with line of sight to large scale AI projects and hardware upgrades.
Personally, my daughter and I connected strongly. Successfully raised 23 Cornish Cross chickens and found a butcher. Got my garden in and my food plots planted.
Professionally, finally got my final prosthesis for a patient I've been working on for almost a year. It was painfully educational and wonderfully ground breaking. Expecting to do hundreds more in the next season of life. Have a great weekend men and may God bless you!
Had a great evening with the family last night. We went fishing and caught 61 fish (walleye and pike) in about 2.5hrs. I typically wouldn't have gone out after work like this, but I wanted to make a memory with the family regardless of the outcome. MOAM has helped me with procrastination in a lot of areas.
Another win: After many weeks of 3x/week PT — my pelvis isn't out of alignment, and we're starting on additional strength work. Once this is fixed (it's been off for ~20 years), I can start running again 🎉
Personal:
Started a New Testament plan, shortest book to longest and got through 5 books already. Have some momentum, slowing down as I read, not trying to just "check it off the box". Praying for wisdom and application of the text I am reading.
Played hockey 3 days in a row this week, worked out each day. Haven't done that before, I'm sore in a good way. I haven't worked out consistently in around 15 years.
Business:
Built the foundation for a free guide / marketing brochure that delivers real value with a clear CTA. Used AI to map the systematic launch plan. I've run companies as a sales rep but never launched my own small business, starting small, planning thoroughly.
This week, we got results for proposals we sent for our clients over 280 days ago. There was a point where we didn't think the government would ever be awarding these contracts, but as of now, we won 12 contracts for our clients, with a few results still pending. This round is far and away the most successful round we've ever had in our four-year existence.
Personal: Was able to attend my son's field trip to the zoo. It was nice to be able to prioritize the time.
Business: Built a fully functional 20 AI agent setup for my business. Dashboards for review & tweaking along the way.
Bidding 2 good size projects & had my first call in for some time from someone in my network looking for pretty sizable IT help. Meeting with them next Tuesday to scope.
Personal:
I think this is business contributing to personal. This week after getting some clarity on where our business is going, the new brand story script. I felt a huge load off my shoulders which really allowed me to be more flexible on myself. I'm more present in moments with my wife and family. Found myself not overthinking in moments I should be enjoying with the people I love the most.
Business: after clearing up our ideal customer and where and I really wanted to go with this company. We were able to book 4 appointments with qualified Christian influencers to come on adventures with us to help grow the brand. Yesterday we had our first appointment and she was in love with the offer. We're excited about what God is doing for us. And a huge shoutout to Matt guiding us in this new direction.
Better late than never.
Personal — My sister and I, with her 2 month old, rode together to visit my mom this weekend. This lead to a happy mother but even more special is we had about 4 hours of alone time to talk one on one throughout the drive. Our relationship has been touchy. This weekend though was the best we had ever connected and the closest we've ever been. We talked about everything life related, and I mean everything. God, family, friends, kids, faith, struggles, worries, our parents. It was surely a God send. Hope to keep that connection going.
Personal: God's grace is good and his mercies are new every morning. I found myself standing outside grilling this evening just feeling so blessed to live on our property. Excited to wake up tomorrow morning and go fish on the lake that's on our property with my son and spend the first part of the day with him.
Business: I feel at peace with where God has me at right now. My business broker reached out after not hearing from him for a couple months saying he had another buyer that might be interested and wanted to get on a call but he ended up never hearing back from them so I'm just thankful that I do not have anxiety about it and trying to remember that God is my 51% partner in this business and any future business.
Had a lot of great wins this week.
45 days straight of my morning routine (morning drink, read Bible and workout).
I'm about 15 days till I am done the whole Bible. This will be my first time reading through it.
Started posting again and finished my perfect week calendar, brandscript.
My dad is flying out west next week and we are going fly fishing with a guide. My dad and I have never had the closest relationship, but we are gonna spend a full day fishing on the water.
Personal wins would be that I had a wonderful date night with my wife, and we were blessed with a beautiful sunset on the river. Also, my awareness of the incredible goodness of God is increasing more and more. I'm so thankful for his faithfulness and patience in my life.
Business wins would be instating one of my longtime employees as a foreman of a particular division that I have been heading up. This will help me to continue developing the business where we feel the Lord is leading us. We also invested in a drone to capture footage of the work that we do. My oldest son is going to be in charge of that operation and I'm excited to see him grow the social media aspect of our business.
Here are mine for the week:
Personal: Worked out every single day. Prayed every morning. Read the Bible every day. Simple wins but I know they will stack up and change everything over time.
Business: Worked through an Ikigai roadmap this week and it really helped. Confirmed some of my passions and gave me a lot of clarity on the kind of work and business opportunities I want to pursue going forward. Excited about what that looks like.
I made a stop on the way into the office this morning at to get a coffee. I was blasting "Bless God" by Brooke Ligertwood while I pulled up to the window, and this young man who was serving me had a huge smile on his face. He was so happy to see that I was praising the Lord while turning my music down, lol. He said, "God bless you," with this massive smirk on his face as I drove away. It was so enlightening. And beautiful. We shared an incredible moment of a pin prick of time together.
Hey guys, great to see your wins. Here are a few for me:
1. My wife told me this week that this has been the sweetest season of our marriage yet (22 years in).
2. Working from home has been challenging in many ways, but I've been finding more moments to step out and hang with my boys during the week, which has been a lot of fun.
3. Personal health discipline has been solid re: diet, exercise, and sleep. I'm making progress with both strength and body comp numbers I'm pursuing.
4. The main division of my main business just closed out the best month we've had in 5 years.
5. I woke up each day to enjoy new mercies from the Lord (Lamentations 3:22-23). Great is his faithfulness!
Huge wins here! So stoked for all of you guys staying on top of your goals!
Business win: Set a meeting with a CrossFit gym in to enroll their community for a trip to !
Personal win: Today is the first day in quite some time I've stepped away from the business to spend some time with my wife. As much as I love the mission of what I'm doing. It's easy for my passion to become an idol and I think for me the hardest thing to do is take a day off. So I'm doing that today. To be honest it's awkward 😂 I've worked my whole life. And stepping away isn't easy. But I want to learn to be more present for my family and even though I think I'm doing God's work. There must be a balance.
Wins for the week is another perfect week with my morning routine and rucked for 30 mins yesterday. Looking to ruck a lot this month to prepare for a 3 day overnight hike with a group of Christian men.
I'd say a win for me this week is just making some big steps towards getting clients for the marketing business and finishing up all the infrastructure that I need to support my clients.
My goal is to have my first client for that business before the end of May and I want everyone in here to stay on me about that!!!! Literally permission to harass me 😆
The other win is after I read the Bible this morning. This will be five days consecutively that I've been in the word every morning and that is honestly the biggest win for this week for sure.
Personal Win: After a wonderful church service on Sunday morning and breakfast at my parents' place, my wife and I went to the store and bought her a new cycling racing bike for her triathlon. That was a huge win for us.
Professional win: Today was day one with our new hire. What an awkward day. It was so different, so unique, and very much a feeling of being off with so many people in my office, but I'm so excited for the future.
I wanted to share the results with you all 🫡 huge weekend at the church men's retreat. 250 dudes. 16 baptisms and a whole lot of God.
Personal — Feeling like I'm working my way back to normal, better habits, more consistency, better sleep schedule. I've realized if my personal life is out of whack it directly affects the business side pretty heavily.
Business — Company I'm now representing posted my hiring announcement. The post got a lot of attention and I got 3 soft leads from it. We also finished planting all of our corn and soybean acres. This was the first year in my life that I planted every acre so no more blaming boo boo's on the old man.
Personal win: Had the opportunity to share aspects to following Jesus with some co-workers.
Weird to say as a personal win but we were praying the other night for a girl who was airlifted to the hospital after a head on collision: we prayed she would walk out of the hospital that night and she did!
Professional: Currently planning out another big flyer sale for our business. Sales have been taking off this month for our retail stores.
Small win, but encouraging. Personal: I have spent all four evenings of this week so far at home with my family.
That's a rarity.
Professional: spearheaded by one of our teammates, we completed the setup of our onboarding system and training plan for our new hire that is starting Monday.
I have a couple of wins to share with you fellas:
1. Our new hire, who is an intern from the . I took him to the game last night. We got to know each other on a deeper level. He is a God fearing man who dedicates himself deep in prayer. That's what made his candidacy stand out.
2. My brother is getting married in August, and his wedding social is tonight with four or five hundred people that know and support him.
3. My wife and I are doing date night tomorrow. This will be very high-quality time, which has been limited since our son was born in November.
Praise God to my brothers in The PACK!
Wins on the home front: Orchestrated a fun concert night tomorrow with my wife and 3 sons to see my very favorite in . Mini road trip, and looking forward to the extended time enjoying each other. Also, I had 3 times hanging out with my 7 year old daughter this week doing things she wanted to do. Maybe like 1 hour time periods, but you can just tell how it drew us closer and means so much… to both of us.
Business front: I had AI help me implement an entire safety dashboard that makes it super easy to manage and record our daily safety checks and weekly tool box talks as well as accident reporting and other parts of our safety program. It's unbelievable how helpful that resource has been. God bless your weekend everyone.
Men,
A quick win to share.
Last night I spent an hour of dedicated time just with my son while my wife was out for groceries. He was quite fussy, so I put him down on his exercise machine, got very close to his face, looked him in the eyes, and he stopped crying. In that moment, I saw God in his eyes. It was quite a beautiful moment. Sometimes it's the small things that make a big difference.
The Holy Spirit was working in our family this weekend.
Our baby was dedicated to the Lord.
We are committed to raising him in a godly home.
I constantly struggle with how I can have more of a purpose professionally. My neighbour's job is helping young men who have trouble living on their own. Last year I hired one of these guys on and it gave him the confidence to go back to school and pursue another job he was passionate about. His parents let my neighbour know how life changing it was, not only for him but for his family.
While I was not looking to hire anyone on at this time, my neighbour approached me about another young man who really needed some help and after praying about it I decided to hire him and he's been with us 2 weeks and it's working out well.
Passed my final real estate licensing exam this week. I have a rejuvenated drive for work now that that's over.
Good morning men, it's been a wild week. I closed three clients, which was much needed, allowing me to keep a 10-month team member on longer than I was thinking.
Personal: Had 2 evening walks this week in which I spent the majority of the time in prayer. Learning to draw near to my Heavenly Father through this focused time of worship and praise, listening, reflecting, and praying for the people in my life.
Business: I signed up for a monthly AI subscription, and in 1 hour it designed a really amazing website laying out the new leadership flow work I've been working on in my business. Excited to share this with my team.
Soul: Grateful for the Lord's grace towards me and my family especially as we celebrate Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday.
Family: enjoying a wonderful season of relational joy and harmony at home.
Health: Diet and exercise plan is pretty dialed in at this point. Feeling good.
Professional: making tangible progress on many fronts.
I recently joined the partner program of a customer engagement software company. Yesterday I sold the tool to one of my clients. Now I'll get monthly commissions as long as they're on the platform. 😊
Our daughter is home sick today but I was able to reschedule my day to be home with her 🙂
I'm at a cabin in the mountains with my wife away from our 4 kids right now. It's the first time we've gotten away like this in years. 🙌
A little background on what I do — I install industrial air compressors. This week I bid the biggest job I've ever bid. Not sure if we'll get it but cool to bid a huge project. Another win — my main contact called earlier this week and asked if we can start hauling rental compressors to job sites, which we can do fairly simply and it would be a great value add for us to handle that.
Personally — my wife's family has a cattle ranch out west. My brother, uncle and I are going out to their bull sale next week. I'm really excited for that.
Went to for an irrigation distributor conference and was recognized for top 100 irrigation distributors globally. It was a great week full of lots of learning and fun. Feeling very blessed.
Both businesses are trending in the right direction. Grateful for that.
I'm out camping with my family, and my VA and staff are keeping both businesses moving while I *mostly* unplug for a long weekend.
Personal — Finished the week strong faith wise. Picked up my grandpa yesterday and went for a drive, talked farming and life, grabbed lunch. It was good quality time. My sister and brother in law had their baby a couple weeks ago. I had never felt such a fulfilling feeling of holding my niece as she curled up in a ball in my arms and put her head on my chest when she wasn't feeling good. Talk about feeling like a protector.
Business — Passed the state and national exam for my real estate license this week. 60 hours of classes and two tests left and then I'll be licensed.
Two of my bigger customers are giving me a larger work load and now booking work consistently two weeks out. Was able to get ahead on a larger project with some extra hours last night and heading a little north of for a hockey tournament with my guys!
B: leads on a few associate doctors to interview and more systems implemented in the office
P: better at unplugging from perpetual business to-do's and actually being present with my wife and kiddos. Feels real good. 😊
B: I got my team on Slack! Attempting to bring more unity and streamline communication with it. Momentum is building within the culture towards our mission. Praying for wisdom and patience.
P: My Bible reading plan and circumstances in life seemed to be pairing very well lately. It's cool when that happens.
Also, finally got some ventilation installed for a coffee roaster that me and a buddy are setting up. Excited to see how his roasting business grows.
Became a grandad on Wednesday!
Personal: My son qualified for regionals for swim in the 10 & under. Was able to get 2 intense lifts in this week & my wife and I are on week 4 of our spring into summer diet.
Professional: wrapped up another network project for a client moving into a new building. Currently bidding on a client as a result of our outbound marketing that would be our biggest client yet.
Rolled out a new AI agent system with intent logic for email, LinkedIn & voice.
This week was a great recovery week from the previous week of what felt like total chaos. I experienced how the daily rhythms sustained my walk with the Lord and other things that matter. I had to communicate some schedule setbacks, and quality issues, but it was all received well, and it seems like my team is right on track.
I hired a new helper position for the shop that I'm excited about!
I met with Matt, and he gave me some really good traction and guidance towards solidifying my business game plan and team building strategy that aligns with my uniqueness and what really benefits my company and team. I have renewed excitement in this area, which sometimes can just be overwhelming. One step at a time!
Personal: It's the second year of coaching my older son's soccer team. After going undefeated last season, the first practice of this year was pure chaos. I had to regroup and change my attitude and strategy. The practice this week was the best one we have ever had going into our first game of the year tomorrow.
Professional: The service side of my business has been drowning in big projects after the snow/ice storms lately. I decided to pull the guys who typically do installs over so we had all hands on deck to help get caught up. It was not extremely beneficial financially, but the boost in morale made it worth it.
Learning to operate in the GAIN not the GAP.
Handled things very well under high tension, yelling, swearing and pressure from a client's angry neighbour.
Gained clarity on who we want on our team and what sets us apart.
My ability to keep calm under stress knowing systems are in place has increased greatly with the help of this group.
A big long time customer is giving me a much larger portion of their service moving forward which is huge for us!
So far, my biggest win is being cool under fire 🔥! I'll take the wins where I can get 'em these past couple weeks.
This group has very much helped with that 😉
Hired a new journeyman electrician, bringing our team to 3 + me. This guy has been helping me in my business off and on, and I worked side by side with him at our previous employer. Fun to work with and he gets the job done well. He's already taking lead on a big project and I'm already seeing more time to focus on sales and the business.
Personal — Really enjoy the structure I have in my mornings. It feels like it sets my day up well and I'm much more productive. Reached my goal of a 7 minute mile, going to try for 6:45 now.
Professional — Verbally committed to the land sales position. It's a scary feeling but I know God has plans for me to prosper.
Business win: landed my largest MRR contract to date. Had our largest accounts receivable week.
Personal: took some time with the family from Tuesday till tomorrow to soak up some sun in . Picked the kids up from school and surprised them for a mid winter break & Valentine's Day.
Personal wins: got to drive 4 hours with my wife this morning to visit our son in college and bring him fresh sourdough cinnamon rolls to share with his friends on Valentine's Day. Great conversation with wifey, but also very great time checking in with our son. God is at work in his life in some really amazing ways and we left our short visit feeling so grateful.
Business: Crew schedule is booked solid through September now, and all for very good clients. This is allowing me much time to give to leadership and business development with Matt in ways that are unprecedented. A lot of great momentum building amongst our team.
Personal: noticing more and more how to be more effective in utilizing my time for true priorities and getting better at delegating.
Business: highest number of new clients ever within the past month and a half.
Personal: Got some quality time with my wife. Our last week's call talking about love languages was eye opening for me. It made me realize the changes I need to make to speak her love language.
Professional: Closed a deal with a builder who is finalizing an Airbnb neighbourhood, they purchased 5 hot tubs for those homes with plans to buy 5 more when the other homes get built.
My wins are that a past customer made good on part of a long outstanding large invoice with promising talk of completely paying the remainder soon.
I have been approached to take on another used equipment venture with some local guys which sounded exciting and something I would have jumped on immediately in the past, but with the tools we are learning through MOAM and through Matt's (and all of your guys') collective wisdom without you even knowing has given me the discernment and drive to really focus on my current business and a much more clear vision going forward.
For the first time in my life I'm feeling a real direction forward and an actual plan on how to get there!
On a plane flying home reflecting on my week. I was able to complete my morning routines on the road. We had great meetings at our customer's supplier summit for 2026, now it's time to follow up and close some business.
Really enjoying the new habits.
Professional — I was working a contract for a customer covering 90% of my work when they stopped paying at the end of last year. They fell four months behind. Over the holidays I felt the Lord ask me to be still and enjoy the downtime with my family as we had started trying to branch out and get our name out to other potential customers. I felt that we were going to go into the new year running, but didn't fully know how because we weren't getting a lot back.
As always the Lord delivered on His word and we have a couple months of work lined up and the calls aren't stopping. We are further behind where we thought we would be by now originally but He has provided deeply for me and my family.
Good morning, lately I have been battling some injuries. This was preventing me from working out, or at least to the level I wanted to. Also, with the holidays, I slowed down on my routines. Here's my win: starting to feel better and been able to hit the gym again. Been more consistent getting up on time, nice and early and jumping in my pool for a good start up of my day. Feeling good being consistent again.
Personal — waking every morning at 5:15 to pray, go through the capture system prioritizing tasks, reading eulogy, and connecting more with my wife before the day starts… it's been a game changer!
Business: implemented new team meeting flow, using the 6 Working Genius, and starting to use Basecamp for managing projects. The team is on board and we're busier than ever!
Professional: Landed a new contract. Off to a record January.
Personal: 4 weeks in a row of waking up at 5 to work out, do the Bible plan, cold shower and pray.
Still working on my eulogy, challenging but very eye opening.
Wins for personal would be consistent and meaningful time with God this week. Daily reading His word, but also finished the book Counterfeit Gods. Daily power walks for good reflection time and also 2 of them with my wife. Always good connection time with her. I've also been connecting more deeply with my teenage daughter this week, and very encouraged by her maturity and wisdom at only 15 years old. I am treasuring the time…
Business wins: Great team meetings finalizing our mission and goals. Exciting developments utilizing the 6 Working Genius quiz. Putting into practice with my sons in developing 2 new lead roles based around their gifting.
Professional — Started doing business with an independent agronomist whose fees are very reasonable. Was able to implement a new chemical program that will save me $1,400 vs using the local co-op. The new chemical program included 2 extra passes as well.
Personal — Staying consistent at the gym. Staying in the good word daily. Fighting temptation & the devil every day building my wall brick by brick. Making it a point to try and live like the man I described in my eulogy.
Landed a new client that will add 10 beef per month to my processing schedule! That will start in February.
Kicked off our 6 week Bible study with 2 other couples from our church last night. It was a great evening getting to know everyone.
Personal — Stayed consistent with 4 total days in the gym, 5 days reading the Bible before bed, doing daily devos and Bible plan. Listened to a sermon last night about becoming a man of God that was eye opening.
Business — Solidified this second opportunity to farm 75 more acres this year after a 2 hour long conversation with the gentleman yesterday afternoon.
Personal — improved family connection and communication. My 18 year old son and his girlfriend made our family dinner last night and they did an excellent job! He'll survive on his own someday!
Business — our entire team completed the 6 Working Genius and next Monday we'll dive in and work towards everyone spending a majority of their time in their working genius to increase productivity and results. Things are moving in a good direction with solid momentum.
I've been working on this sauna since before Christmas with my boys, and yesterday we finally finished it up and delivered it to our retreat property. Today, we are hoping to set it up and use it this weekend with family and friends.
Time with the Lord in the mornings has been great!! Inspired daily by Romans and the story of Genesis.
I know it's not a Friday but my wife and I just got home from the hospital with our new baby daughter! We are now a family of 5! Everything went as smooth as possible and both mom and baby are doing great! God is so good!
Just before the new year, I committed to a morning reading plan from the Bible, evening power walks (sometimes with my wife), and reading a book in the evenings. I've been able to honour those commitments every day this week, and I am excited how rich of a time that has been for my relationship with the Lord, and my relationship to my wife.
Passed my General A Engineering Contractors license exam today! It's something I have been putting off for a year just because I didn't want to face it and when I joined this group I decided to schedule it and see what happens and if I fail I can always retake it. Turns out I should have never feared because I passed!
1) Enjoyed a long overdue 10 day family vacation to the family ranch.
2) Set clear personal and professional goals for 2026.
3) Lots of good time in the Word and in prayer.
4) Hired a new VA after letting my previous one go a few weeks back, and have her off to a good start.
• Had a long-overdue and difficult conversation and let my assistant go on Monday. It was one of the harder professional decisions I've had to make, but it was the right one for the business, and the conversation went about as well as it realistically could.
• Put together a clear, objective list of goals I want to achieve this year. It feels good to have concrete targets instead of vague ambition.
• Closed a solid new client despite the extremely challenging environment in the defense market right now.
• Small but satisfying win: my bonsai tree survived shipping, lost some leaves, and is now sprouting new growth. One month in and it's still alive, which feels like a metaphor I didn't ask for but will accept.
Little late but for Win Friday I'm happy to share that we've hit our best month ever for sales, with a building project pipeline starting to surface.
We had an eventful (kids with motion sickness, both flights delayed, almost missing our connecting flight) but successful day of travel Friday to get the family from to for the holidays.
We've done great selling our holiday packages this month, record collections days, and onboarding a new team member who is learning fast.
Gearing up for some fun time with the family this weekend and excited to have my two older daughters in town next week!
Completed our business Christmas dinners which went really well. Was able to give out bonuses to our staff which they were excited about. Had some great feedback from staff on how blessed they feel to work at our stores.
Going skating with my wife and kids tonight.
Hey fellas, I know I've been AWOL for some time.
I've been busy setting up my second location and onboarding/training my new therapist.
We're officially rolling in both arenas!
Had an incredible offsite/onsite with my team this week. Shared vision for new business line. Resoundingly positive response!
Had a great date night last night with my wife. Went to a spin class and worked out, nice dinner.
Had some good teaching moments with staff.
Found another warehouse space to temporarily move a bunch of my inventory to… until we make room in our warehouse. That was a big deal for us.
• Landed a $15k project, woohoo!
• Client wants to get on a 6-month retainer!
• Posted my 1st long form BTS video
Got unplugged for a few days before an end-of-year sprint, did a little fishing with the oldest and littlest sons.
Closed a client that was considering a competitor, which also prompted a development of a new solid asset for sales process in the future.
Personal wins:
Found a physio that I think can help with some personal health issues.
Going on a fun date night with my wife tomorrow night… we are even going out tonight with our in-laws (no kids). This is almost unheard of — 2 nights in a row.
Met up with a good lifelong friend yesterday.
Professional:
Our sale for the business is going really well.
Got all prepped for our big customer appreciation day tomorrow. Will be very busy.
Finally chose and started with a new bookkeeper.
Found a tenant for my vacant rental suite, had to go a month vacant to find the right fit.
Wins, a few small ones.
Hired my daughter on to create an office administrator position, working to free myself up to operate equipment more.
Repaired one of 2 lasers.
Created a spreadsheet that allows me to better track cost at an hourly rate.
Small wins toward a greater goal.

This is a HUGE answer to prayer, and has my wife and I talking about potentially moving to make it a reality. Please pray for Godly wisdom in this opportunity! 🙏
I'll share some wins.

What did you do with your gained back Time Freedom? Got home a bit earlier a couple of nights to be with the family at dinner.
Just saw the client I mentioned on the call earlier and he committed to my 12 week pain free plan!
Rounding out Matthew chapter 6, I can see how verse 33 is as important as 34…
[33] But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. [34] Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Forgot probably my biggest win — today is my one year anniversary of starting my practice!
Solid week. Many many blessings. I'm so grateful.
Top 1. God just brought me the perfect candidate, journeyman electrician, a believer, a man of integrity. Just offered him the job, he starts Sept 2!!!!
Also, got through my options I've been working on for so long.
Enjoyed getting out doing an inspection, realizing I really do like parts of this business again!
Sold a job, my admin just hit one year with us.
Got a workout in this morning.
Oooo yea! Last month I hit $19k in gross income! And I worked 30 less hours that month… praise God!
Two new inquiries for our mid ticket coaching offer coming in after kicking off our email campaign workflow automation yesterday 🔥
Thanks Matt for the ongoing guidance with our success 💯
Really helpful for general and specific direction on all fronts in life. The 90-Day Planning Worksheet is great!
I used to be way more diligent to join all of the calls, then I think I associated my lack of getting things done to joining the calls, though that never really was the issue.
Learning that structuring my days, and accomplishing my goals is my focus, and simply being obedient to complete what is set before me.
God help me to be diligent, and stay focused on this 90 Day Plan 🙏
Thanks for the encouragement today. I have a renewed vigour to chip away at building out our operating system in Basecamp. My business partner (my wife) is also helping apply some pressure 😅 no more chaos!
Wins:
• Busiest / most productive / financially successful week yet
• Sold my first pain-free package. Got one new coaching client. Potential new protocol.
• Ran a successful first raffle — got 20 new email addresses
• Had an unexpected 45 minute conversation about Jesus with a client who was on my table on Friday which I think would turn into a fruitful relationship.
I was able to finish the complete funnel and automate the email journey for new families coming into my teaching studio! It was cool to me how exciting it was to finally get the AI agent and my API for my CRM syncing.
Personal: hit PRs on all major lifts (bench, deadlift, squat, military press) — I no longer have to tell people I lift, they can see it… so now I can spend the entire conversation talking about BJJ…
Professional: I'm speaking at the biggest lawyer networking event of the year tomorrow… significance? I hate networking so I went all in to force myself to be uncomfortable.
Commitments: replacing one negative habit with positive habit — yes, just one… I'm not a machine…
Closed the deal this morning on a business purchase. It's been a long time in the works and represents a major milestone for us. Very grateful!
3x body weight deadlift. I'm still super amped up. This was an awesome journey. I appreciate y'all's support!
With Matt's help, I was able to create a perfect week calendar and make sure that I've got the big rocks in place before filling it up with smaller priority items. This practice was very freeing, clarifying, and joy producing.
One of my wins from last week was networking with another podcast coach who invited me to give a guest presentation on podcasting technology, microphones, and best practices. The session went really well, and we're now working on a partnership where she'll refer her coaching members to me for editing services. Excited about the possibilities this collaboration could bring!
My wins for the week: Locking in a client in town that has A LOT of content needs, so it's looking like that will be a retainer! Also locking in a beverage brand to do some lifestyle photo & vid content!!
Hey everyone! Talked with Matt about doubling down on sharing my story more and had one of those videos get 10K plus views on YouTube and went from 77 subscribers to 118. Also did well on Twitter and had 6 people join my free group from it. Excited!
I've completed most of Module 2 on the Flight School, defined my ICA, and wireframed my website!
I have 2 guys on my program right now. They are getting in for free in exchange for a testimonial and helping me work out some of the bugs.
This past week I've been able to book three interviews for the podcast. One guest has a fairly large YouTube audience and he was kind of a shot in the dark but he happily agreed to come on. He's positioned himself as a time management guru and his work has really helped me in the past. I'm excited to see how this interview and the other two can help my target audience.

• Grew our paid subscriber list on Substack by releasing bonus content

• I was also able to record two podcast episodes this week
• I also was able to spend a little time on content creation
Thankful to have been able to make some progress toward my goals in the Build49 worksheet!
#win won the morning today! Created friction with my phone and I stood there and just waited 20 seconds before making a decision about going back to bed.. got in the shower and did some cold exposure and I am feeling great for the day. God is so good as I prayed for strength I know I don't have. Hoping you all have a blessed day!!
#win The morning Routine masterclass was incredible! Thank you to Matt for running it & providing so much value! It's definitely worth watching and I feel super inspired and better prepared to setup my mornings to glorify God. Have a blessed day legends!!
Working with Matt has been a huge blessing in this season of life. I'm having what's likely the biggest month of my career — on track to bring in around $140,000 in personal production, with my team adding another five or six. That's over $145,000 total for June.
Beyond business, I've been able to stay present at home. My wife and kids are doing great. My daughter just graduated high school, and I got to be fully there for her final dance recital — something she's been part of since she was two. And I'm coaching my son's baseball team, which is one of my favorite things to do. I get to stand at first base, fist bump him when he gets a hit, and be part of his world.
Life is full right now — business growth, personal presence, and family joy.
My wife was actually the one who saw the program. I was hesitant because it was a big investment, and she asked me, "What training do you have to run a company?" I had none; I was just making it up on the fly. I don't have business training, and I didn't have great man mentorship growing up. This whole program has just been so full of it. I'm just excited to keep moving forward and getting to know how to do all this a bit better.
The biggest shift I've seen in myself is taking responsibility and ownership. If I'm not showing up as a calm father and a loving husband, that's on me. The external circumstances don't dictate how I get to show up. That's been the biggest part — just taking responsibility for my actions and how I'm taking care of myself, whereas in the past, it was very much a victim mentality.
My biggest win has been getting a lot more systems and structures in place, especially with the tracker. That has honestly been a huge help. Just doing that and sharing it with my wife to build structure around our life has allowed me to work out a lot more consistently and manage my time a lot better. The little steps have been really encouraging and are helping out a lot.
The tracker, just that alone, has been my accountability piece so far. Just getting to look on there and thinking, "Man, I really want to check that box tonight," makes a big difference.
For my whole life, I was the guy who bought books and let them look beautiful on my shelf without ever reading them. Since starting this program, that has completely changed. I've finally cracked open my books and I'm reading more now than I have in the last four years, which I'm pretty excited about.
I've built a new morning routine where, about four times a week, I'm waking up earlier to read and pray — something I've never really done in my life. It's been a really cool thing for me, and the best part is that my wife has noticed the positive change, too.
Being in a group with other Christian men who are all looking to better themselves is powerful. I see so much value in having this group of guys to move forward with.
My wife has noticed the difference as well. Oh yeah. She's a big reader, so she's always been trying to get me to get into some books. Now she's like, "Wow, babe, this is cool. Like I can't believe you're doing that." It's been a cool way to start the day.
I've finally cracked some books… this is the most I've read in four years, you know, of actually not work-related or professional-related reading, so I'm pretty excited about that. I've been waking up, cracking my book… about four times a week, as opposed to zero before.
I love the program. It's cool to see a bunch of Christian men who are looking to better themselves. I've always found a lot of value in that team energy where everyone holds each other accountable, and that's something I was missing. I totally see the value in having this group of guys to continuously move on with.
I don't want a giant plate — I want to spend quality time with my kids. We homeschool, my wife doesn't work for someone else, and I work from home. That's massive for us.
We already have what a lot of people want: time freedom, no debt, and a lifestyle aligned with our values. Matt's approach — building around purpose, faith, and how God's gifted us — that's what I want more men to see. The way he teaches business isn't just about making more money — it's about building a life you actually want.
We've already sold a third of our inventory in pre-orders and finally started making money on merch thanks to a new print-on-demand setup. This program's helped us sharpen our niche, build a strong team, and get clear on what people actually want.
Our summit is charging double this year and already has more committed guys than last year — with no email push yet. That's the power of leaning into the systems and understanding our audience.
The email marketing framework Matt shared is exactly what we needed. It gave us clarity and a repeatable cadence to communicate value and convert more consistently.
Coming into this, I just — at a core mental level — I wanted more confidence and clarity. I hated feeling kind of purposeless. The past couple weeks, I've been in a good mental headspace, and I think the Lord's been giving me wisdom and really practical ways with how to use my time well. My wife and I built out our ideal weeks in Google Calendar, which has helped us bring more structure and peace into our lives. I've also been tracking my metrics, repurposing content, and learning a lot. It's been really fulfilling.
Your call today was incredible. We had our weekly check-in call immediately afterwards, and rehashed our business goals for the year. The way you have broken down the tracker made so much sense, and we are stoked to continue to hold each other accountable to what we are setting out to do. Great work with all this 👏 I especially liked how you helped us tie our goals into an emotional connection for "why" we do what we do.
I was working 18hrs a day and still not feeling like I was catching up. I believe now I have a better idea of where to invest my time and when to hire people to help. I am giving more time to my family and focusing on areas in the company I want to grow.
I was too stuck in the weeds of the business to think big picture how to grow. Lots of spinning my wheels without making real progress. Now I feel like I have a framework to make good decisions as we scale up the business. I'm constantly improving my effective hourly rate and delegating tasks that don't need my attention.
[I was] constantly hitting up against a wall — needing to recalibrate often. I think having a program and framework to work with gives a foundation to be able to revisit often, helps a ton. [I am] better able to disconnect from work. Be more present at home. And more focused at work.
Matt's AI implementation program has been a tremendous time saver for our construction company. He helped us streamline submittals, contract review, estimating, and proposal prep — making our workflows faster and more accurate. We have already received several comments from clients on the thoroughness of our work product.
Matt translates complex AI tools into simple, practical steps our team can use every day, in the office and in the field. His hands-on training and thorough review won quick buy-in from our entire staff. I highly recommend Matt and his program to any business looking to implement AI the right way, saving considerable time and money.
A couple wins today, got the morning right and was able to make a brunch with my wife and son happen after the gym! Set me up for what would be a testing day at work.
Able to get more done in one day since we started!! Also getting in the word daily is a game changer.
Getting into a good rhythm now that the school year is starting up has been awesome. Getting my whole morning routine and my Bible reading done by 8 or 8:30 feels really good. It feel like I've earned the right to check messages and emails afterward.
This tracker has been great. I need this kind of practical reminder and motivation.
It's like you're always trying to beat that one guy that's right above you.
This last Sunday, thanks to the Mission 30, I was able to just do nothing the whole day. And it was so enriching to realize that you don't need to go all the time. You need that rest, just like when you're working out. If you're always tearing yourself up, you can't grow in your strength.
Was in the word every day this week and worked out 4 times
